Didn't you mean "don't count your chickens until they are hatcheted"? Or do I have an unhealty fixation on chicken mortality? Good luck on the inspections - and be absolutley SURE to check the barn roof for condition and check the frame for powder post beetles and their ilk.. I know you will learn a lot just asking questions and staying right up with the inspector. Fingers are crossed -and I dont mean chicken fingers, either. OH! there I go again! Drats!
"ilk" is not a thing. It is an old fashioned word for "like things" Or - for fun you can ask the inpector to keep a special look-out for any possible "ilks" and let you know if he sees them. I'd like to be there. He he he he! The evil chicken murderess.
